Historic Victory

TCU's 52-21 victory over West Virginia was the Horned Frogs' largest margin of victory over a Power Five opponent since a 55-3 victory over Baylor in 2014.

TCU's 52 points were the most the Horned Frogs have scored against a Power Five opponent since a 56-28 victory over Texas Tech in 2015.

The Horned Frogs' 52 points were the most they have scored in a season opener since a 59-17 victory over Grambling State in 2017.

Impressive Offensive Performance

TCU's offense was firing on all cylinders against West Virginia, racking up 605 total yards, including 275 rushing yards and 330 passing yards.

The Horned Frogs' 275 rushing yards were the most they have rushed for in a season opener since 2017.

Quarterback Max Duggan accounted for four touchdowns (three passing, one rushing), giving him 10 passing touchdowns and four rushing touchdowns in his last three games.

Solid Defensive Effort

TCU's defense held West Virginia to just 21 points, the fewest points the Mountaineers have scored in a season opener since 2010.

The Horned Frogs' defense forced three turnovers (two interceptions, one fumble recovery) and sacked West Virginia quarterback JT Daniels four times.

TCU's defense has now forced at least one turnover in each of its last 10 games.

Special Teams Contributions

TCU's special teams also made a significant contribution to the victory, with Derius Davis returning a punt 52 yards for a touchdown.

The Horned Frogs' special teams have now scored a touchdown in each of their last three games.

TCU's special teams have also blocked two kicks in their last three games.

Looking Ahead

TCU will look to continue its strong start to the season when it hosts Tarleton State on Saturday, September 10.

The Horned Frogs will then open Big 12 play on the road against Kansas on Saturday, September 17.

TCU will be looking to earn its first Big 12 victory since 2018.
